A 16-year-old girl is currently changing the world.
Greta Thunberg is the youngest nominee for the Nobel Peace Prize. Last year, Thunberg decided not to attend school on Fridays. Instead, she went on strike at the Swedish parliament, protesting against the imminent destruction of the ecosystem, possibly threatening the future of her generation. Within a year, millions of students around the globe have taken part in the #FridaysForFuture school strike for climate.
Known for her fierce sense of speech, Thunberg recently spoke at the UN Climate Summit. She criticized the world's leaders for only speaking of environmental issues and for not acting upon their commitments. She was furious at how they could focus on economic growth while only pretending to understand the urgency of environmental pollution. |
